A partnership engineered for decades of discovery.
The Dartmouth Cardiovascular Oncology CT Research Initiative unites an operational research organization, a nonprofit scientific and educational partner, and an academic radiation oncology department into a single, cohesive program.
Heart Innovation & Equity Research Institute
HIER serves as the operational engine of the initiative. It builds and maintains the imaging repositories, artificial intelligence pipelines, radiomics platforms, registry infrastructure, dosimetry integration, and translational analytics that convert routine clinical imaging into scientific discovery. HIER coordinates investigators, protocols, data governance, security architecture, industry partnerships, intellectual property strategy, and grant execution.
Heart Spark Research & Innovation Institute
Heart Spark RII amplifies the program's scientific reach through collaboration, education, trainee development, patient engagement, dissemination, and philanthropic support. It anchors the initiative's community-facing mission and supports equitable access to cardio-oncology innovation.
Dartmouth Radiation Oncology
Dartmouth provides the clinical, academic, and radiation oncology infrastructure that makes the initiative possible: treatment planning computed tomography, dosimetry, radiation delivery, longitudinal outcomes, and a multidisciplinary faculty spanning cardiology, cardio-oncology, medical oncology, radiology, medical physics, biomedical engineering, epidemiology, biostatistics, and artificial intelligence.
A shared framework, clearly divided responsibilities.
HIER runs operations. Heart Spark RII amplifies mission and community. Dartmouth anchors clinical and academic execution. Together they form a scalable governance model designed to grow into a national and international reference center.
